Via West

Via West provides residential respite care with weekend and week-long special needs camping programs throughout the year. We offer innovative programs and activities that include both learning and outdoor experiences, plus independent living skills and skill building activities that are specifically designed to improve self-sufficency.

Traditional Overnight Program

Traditional overnight programs provide independent living skills and executive functioning, all while having so much fun. Activities are themed to each weekend and include cooking, hiking, swimming, music, sports, dramatic arts, creative arts, and more. Sessions are 3 days, 5 days, or 7 days in length. The Program

  • Kids, teens, and young adults sessions for ages 5-22 and adult sessions for ages 18+
  • Staffing ratios provided for 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1
  • Check-in is from 10:00am-12:00pm on the first day and check-out is from 1:00-3:00pm on the last day
  • Day program from 9:00am-8:00pm is available every day of the session

Pricing & Enrollment

  • Overnight Private Pay: $640-$2065 depending on ratio and length of session
  • Day Camp Private Pay: $185 for 3:1 or $235 for 2:1 or $265 for 1:1
  • If you would like to utilize Regional Center funding for your Via West experience, please check with your Regional Center planning team. If the respite is indeed funded by the Regional Center, you will only be charged for the enhanced camp experience - the Supplemental Daily rate of $82.

Swimming Lessons

With financial support from Autism Speaks, Via West Campus is proud to offer Swim Lessons for children, teens, and adults attending one of these Via West summer sessions:

  • Walking on Sunshine (June 21-25) for adults ages 18+
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (July 5-9) for adults ages 18+
  • MARVELous World (August 1-7) for kids, teens, and young adults ages 5-22
  • Space Jam (August 9-13) for kids, teens, and young adults ages 5-22

The fee is $60 for 4 lessons (45 minutes in length), which incorporate water safety and swimming skills. Please call Reema Kumar at 408-243-7861, ext. 214 for more information.

Leadership Programs

Leadership programs help adults master the relevant knowledge, skills, and attitudes for working at Via West in preparation for community work settings. For detailed descriptions and themes for each session, click here for the current registration brochure.
