Via West

Via West provides residential respite care with weekend and week-long special needs camping programs throughout the year. We offer innovative programs and activities that include both learning and outdoor experiences, plus independent living skills and skill building activities that are specifically designed to improve self-sufficiency.

Traditional Overnight Program

Traditional overnight programs provide independent living skills and executive functioning, all while having so much fun. Activities are themed to each weekend and include cooking, hiking, music, sports, dramatic arts, creative arts, and more. The Program

  • Kids, teens, and young adults sessions for ages 5-22, adult sessions for ages 18+, and new older teens and young adults sessions for ages 16-39
  • Staffing ratios provided for 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1
  • Check-in is from 5:00pm-6:00pm on Friday and check-out is from 1:00-3:00pm on Sunday
  • Day program is available Saturday only from 9:00am-8:00pm

Pricing & Enrollment

  • Overnight Private Pay: $582 for 3:1 or $639 for 2:1 or $689 for 1:1
  • Saturday Only Private Pay: $180 for 3:1 or $195 for 2:1 or $260 for 1:1
  • If you would like to utilize Regional Center funding for your Via West experience, please check with your Regional Center planning team. If the respite is indeed funded by the Regional Center, you will only be charged for the enhanced camp experience - the Supplemental Daily Rate of $80.

Travel Camp

Travel camps give participants the chance to spend time exploring their own local community and beyond by experiencing weekend overnight travel. For detailed descriptions and themes for each session, click here for the current registration brochure.

The Program

  • Kids, teens, and young adults sessions for ages 5-22 and adult sessions for ages 18+
  • Staffing ratios provided for 3:1 with limited availability for 2:1 (evaluated on a case-by-case basis)
  • Check-in is from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Friday and check-out is from 3:00-4:00pm on Sunday

Pricing & Enrollment

  • Private Pay: $725 for 3:1 or $825 for 2:1
  • If you would like to utilize Regional Center funding for your Via West experience, please check with your Regional Center planning team. If the respite is indeed funded by the Regional Center, you will only be charged for the enhanced camp experience - the Supplemental Daily Rate of $225.

Sports Clinics

Sports clinics emphasize participation and teamwork while building participants’ abilities at the pace they can and to the level that they are capable. For detailed descriptions and themes for each session, click here for the current registration brochure.

The Program

  • All ages 5+
  • Staffing ratios provided for 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1
  • 6 week long clinic consists of 1.5 hour lessons at either 4:00pm or 6:00pm

  • Private Pay: $199 for 3:1 or $289 for 2:1 or $369 for 1:1

Special Needs Science Camp

Science overnight/day camps are specifically designed for district special day classes and non-public schools. Curriculum encompasses climate, ecosystem-vegetation/animals, gardens, and green space.

The Program

  • Students ages 5-22
  • Staffing ratios provided for 1:1, 2:1, and 3:1
  • 45-60 minute lessons with 7 rotations including meals and camp circle games
