Projects and Partners
Via Services Partners
Via Services understands the importance of partnership in the community as part of its mission to service children and adults with disabilities. With the influx of children entering the California Early Start Program, it is essential to have the resources available to serve them. Working in partnership with the San Andreas Regional Center, Via is providing speech and development screenings to help with increased need for early start assessments. We also work with many partners through our Via West program. Local high schools, universities, recreational programs and service clubs work side by side with Via Services to increase the opportunities for our campers.
Via Services Projects
Sobrato Family Foundation Grant to Via Services
This year, Via Services has been awarded a 2:1 Challenge Grant for up to $102,500 from the Sobrato Family Foundation. We have already received $50,000, and over the next year, Via must raise $50,000 matching dollars to receive an additional $50,000 from the foundation. The Sobrato Family Foundation will match our received donations in the following way:
- A gift from a first-time donor will be matched 100%
- A gift from a lapsed donor (one who has not made a donation within the last 12 months) will be matched 100%
- A gift from a current donor (one who has given a donation within the last 12 months) will be matched 100% by the increased portion of their prior gift.

Via Services Capital Development Project
As part of a $10.5 million capital campaign for Via West's, five band new lodges were built that can now accommodate 256 more campers each year. Infrastructure improvements include a new access road and a new 120,000 gallon water tank. Via West also now has a newly resurfaced sports court, nature pavilion and garden. These additions have increased the opportunities for campers to participate in physical activities and to learn about daily nutrition. Renovations are still underway as part of the development project. This year, Via Services will build another new lodge and begin work on a new performing arts center. To find out how you can help out with the project, please contact our Advancement Office at 408-243-7861.
“Bridge the Gap” Camp Costanoan
Each year, Via Services covers a percentage of the cost for children and adults with developmental disabilities to attend our camp programs. Low state reimbursement rates coupled with a down economy, is making this gap even bigger. We need to raise the funds to cover these gaps so that we can keep Camp open and accessible to the many individuals that participate each year. If you would like to contribute to Camp Costanoan as part of the “Bridge the Gap”, please contact our Advancement Office at 408-243-7861.
"Call to Action" - First Step Early Intervention Program
Via Services is dedicated to serving children and adults with disabilities and special needs but we cannot do it without the help of our community. Our First Step Early Intervention program provides services and screenings through the San Andreas Regional Center and our KidConnections program and for children in the community who are referred to us by parents/caregivers and pediatricians. The percentage of the cost to provide these services is covered by Via Services each year. We must raise these additional funds to support the program. There are many ways to help Via Services “bridge the gap”. The community can help by making a donation, telling friends, neighbors and pediatricians about our services or talking to their company or business about supporting Via Services. If you would like to contribute to First Step Early Intervention as part of the “Call to Action”, please contact our Advancement Office at 408-243-7861.
